Senegal President Macky Sall joked that Sadio Mane, the country’s national football team star, now has a second job following his recent marriage to Aisha Tamba.
Remember that the Al-Nassr forward married Aisha in Senegal one week before the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, or AFCON.
The former Liverpool player was alongside the rest of his colleagues at his country’s presidential office to bid farewell to Sall and hear words of support from him.
Sall had a special message for Mane, congratulating the former Southampton player on his recent marriage.
He then wished the 31-year-old a happy marriage before reminding him that, aside from football, he now has a duty to his wife.
“First and foremost, I would like to warmly congratulate our national Nianthi, Sadio Mane, who has recently married,” Sall was quoted as saying by beinSports.
“I called him so we could congratulate him and wish him a happy marriage.” God bless your family and descendants. You’ll be doing something other than scoring goals from now on.”
Mane is expected to play a key part for Senegal in the 2023 AFCON, which will be held in Cote d’Ivoire in January.
Senegal is the current AFCON champion, having won the previous tournament.
