Roman Wilson is among the 18 Michigan Wolverines participating in the 2024 NFL Combine, and he met with media on Friday morning as part of his responsibilities in Indianapolis.
The speedy wideout discussed what he hopes to prove at the NFL Combine, explained why J.J. McCarthy is the ideal NFL QB, broke down the future of Michigan’s receiver room and more.
Wilson explained that McCarthy makes unexpected plays happen.
The unexpected in the good way. He throws a bomb. Like, holy sh—, he just made that throw,” Wilson said. “He’s just an unreal guy, amazing arm talent and I feel like he should be every GM’s dream quarterback.
“… I think a lot of people like to say he can’t throw it. I feel like he’s an unbelievable quarterback. You guys are gonna see at Pro Day or even here. His arm talent, it’s through the roof. And he’s just one of the better quarterbacks in this Draft.”
While in Indianapolis, Wilson hopes to prove to NFL teams that he can be a consistent playmaker.
“Being a consistent playmaker on a weekly basis is something I would have liked to show out more,” he said. “Obviously, we had so many playmakers at Michigan, I was never able to be that guy consistently. But I wish I was able to show that because I feel like I can do that on a week-to-week basis. … Some people look at my stats, and I don’t feel like my stats reflect who I am. Just pull my film, and you’ll find out who I am.”
