Sherrone Moore’s staff is taking shape and the recruiting dead period is over.
It should be a busy spring for Michigan as it looks to reestablish itself on the recruiting trail with several new coaches in the fold.

One of the Wolverines’ top targets before defensive backs coach Steve Clinkscale followed Jim Harbaugh to the Los Angeles Chargers was Columbus (Ohio) Marion-Franklin 2025 four-star cornerback Dawayne Galloway Jr.
RANKING: No. 97 overall prospect nationally and No. 11 cornerback, according to the 247Sports Composite. He checks in at No. 5 overall in Ohio.
SIZE: 6-foot-1, 175 pounds
THE BATTLE: Galloway has blossomed into a top recruit, boasting 26 total offers – most from schools in the south or Midwest. Surprisingly, he does not have an offer from Ohio State, which already holds three commitments from corners in the 2025 class, including the top two in the country, but he is scheduled to visit this spring. If the Buckeyes don’t make a push, that could open the door for the Wolverines to make a serious run from a top player from rival territory. OSU was not in his recent top 12 list, which consists of notable power five programs such as Michigan, Georgia, Penn State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Kentucky. The talented defensive back has taken unofficial visits to Syracuse, Georgia, Kentucky, Purdue, West Virginia and Michigan.
WHAT ARE MICHIGAN’S CHANCES? There are currently no 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions submitted for Galloway, but Michigan is the current leader in On3′s Prediction Machine at 27.1%, ahead of West Virginia (12.4%), Kentucky (10.6%) and Purdue (8.9%). The key for the Wolverines will be new defensive backs coach LaMar Morgan, who hasn’t officially been announced yet but is expected to be soon.
Clinkscale is an Ohio native and helped Michigan reestablish a recruiting presence in the state. The Wolverines signed eight prospects from Ohio the past two cycles after inking just one the previous three cycles combined.
Clinkscale offered Galloway last September.
“I’m feeling really good with Michigan,” Galloway told The Wolverine. “They ended up just getting the new DB coach, so I hope he recruits me bad. Michigan is the place, and I’m really messing with them. Hopefully, (Morgan) recruits me like Clink was. I’m still interested.”
