Free Agency starts with the beginning of the new league year on Wednesday March 13th, and the biggest name in the quarterback market will be former Pro Bowl Quarterback Russell Wilson. There has been a large amount of speculation on what Wilsons market will look like and we have finally received some clarity. DraftKings Sportsbook released updated odds on Wilson’s next team. Russell Wilson has already met with teams and will continue to as the off season progresses.
Since the retirement of Ben Roethlisberger in 2022, the Steelers have been winning despite their quarterback play. The Steelers selected Kenny Picket in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, hoping he would be the heir apparent to Roethlisberger. Pickett’s first 2 seasons have been riddled with injuries and inconsistent play. The young quarterback posted a mild 13 to 13 touchdown to interception ratio through his first two seasons with the Steelers. Forcing Pittsburgh to question what is best for the team at the quarterback position moving forward.
On Friday Russell Wilson met with the Steelers, however he left without a deal in place. Steelers GM Omar Kahn has given Kenny Pickett his full backing with the media at the 2024 NFL Combine, discussing his excitement for Kenny under new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith.
“We are excited about Kenny and excited about the impact that Arthur Smith is going to have on the offense and on Kenny,” Khan said.
