Detroit Lions offensive tackle Matt Nelson, an unrestricted free agent, recently visited with the New York Giants, according to a report by NorthJersey.com. Nelson, 28 years old, stands 6-7 and weighs 315 pounds. He was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa following the 2019 draft by the Lions. After spending his rookie season on the Lions practice squad, he made the 53-man roster the following year. Nelson has appeared in 43 games with 14 starts over his career, playing the bulk of his snaps at right tackle. In 639 career pass-blocking snaps, He has allowed 52 quarterback pressures for a 95.3 pass-blocking efficiency rating. Last season, he appeared in three games for the Lions with two starts before suffering a season-ending ankle injury.
