The Vols have been one of the top teams in the running for him since they gave him his first SEC offer in September. He returned to Tennessee last weekend to attend one of its spring practices, visiting the Vols for the fifth time in less than seven months, and he said after the visit that they were still one of his top choices.
“I would say they’re top-five, for sure,” said Walton, who’s ranked by 247Sports as the No. 46 cornerback in the 2025 class and the No. 27 junior from the state of Alabama. “I would say Ole Miss, Arkansas (are also among my favorites), and I would say Georgia Tech, also — just the way that they show love whenever I’m on their campus and (in their) facility.”
A little more than a week removed from his latest visit to Tennessee, Sidney Walton has narrowed his focus to a handful of schools and is moving closer to a commitment. The Class of 2025 defensive back from Moody (Ala.) High School announced his top five college choices Sunday in a post on his X account, confirming that the Vols are among his current favorites, and added, “Commitment Coming Soon… #blessed.”
Ole Miss, Missouri, Arkansas and Georgia Tech joined Tennessee in the group of front-runners for the 6-foot-1, 190-pound Walton. He has received scholarship offers from nearly 20 schools, including all five of the schools he’s strongly considering.
