The 2024 WNBA season was full of historic moments, but one player in particular had the majority of the shine — No. 1 overall pick and WNBA All-Star Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever.
To have achieved the things she did as a rookie, was simply unprecedented, setting league marks for scoring and triple-doubles by a rookie, as well as the WNBA record for assists in a season.
On Thursday night the Clark and the Fever played their final game of the regular season, and Clark continued to make WNBA history.
Clark notched a historic accomplishment in just 20 minutes of play against the Washington Mystics as she surpassed WNBA legend Diana Taurasi for the second-most 3-pointers made in a season in league history.
Clark made two 3-pointers on the night, moving her to 122 on the season, one ahead of Taurasi’s mark. The WNBA’s all-time record for 3s in a season is held by the Liberty’s Sabrina Ionescu, set in 2023.
