Over the weekend Haiden Deegan underwent minor surgery to get some hardware removed from his wrist.
The Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing rider suffered a broken wrist back in January ahead of the 2024 Monster Energy AMA Supercross 250SX East Region Championship.
At the time Deegan’s camp downplayed the injury, saying it was only sprained. Deegan would go on to put in a strong sophomore SX season with three main event wins and five total podiums en route to finishing second in the points behind Red Bull KTM Champion Tom Vialle.
Deegan would then go on to take the AMA Pro Motocross Championship 250 Class title in dominating fashion, claiming five overall wins and nine total overall podiums.
The second-generation rider also claimed his second consecutive SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) 250SMX title after winning two out of the three events and taking five moto wins out of the six races this fall.
Fans wanted to see the California native compete in the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations (now coming up this weekend) in the United Kingdom, although Deegan had stated he needed to get surgery on his wrist and remove the hardware ahead of the 2025 season. This weekend, Eli Tomac(MXGP), Cooper Webb (MX2), and Aaron Plessinger (Open) will represent Team USA.
