South Carolina forward Ashlyn Watkins, who has been suspended by the University since her August 31st arrest on a charge of first-degree assault and battery, and a charge of kidnapping, is now clear of those charges after completing a Pre-Trial Intervention program The State reported after reviewing online Richland County court records. The University has not reacted related to the status of the Watkins’ suspension.
Watkins is a 6-3 junior from Columbia who was an integral part of the Gamecocks undefeated run to the National Championship last season. She earned Second Team All-SEC honors after averaging nine points and seven rebounds per game.
The Gamecocks opened their season Monday night in Las Vegas with a win over Michigan. They will play NC State Sunday in Charlotte.
