The regime that the Oklahoma Soonersfootball program is currently boasting, isn’t one that has had a ton of success, but if there’s one thing they have, it’s a good defense.
Last year, their offense kept them from being a good team.
If they just had an average SEC defense they are one of the best teams in college football.
Their defense was one of the best in college football but was constantly put in terrible situations by the offense, whether it was interceptions returned for touchdowns, near touchdowns, or fumbles by the offense in bad field positions. And, despite the way the season finished, with an embarrassing loss to Navy in the Armed Forces Bowl, the Sooners are on track to have yet another elite defense.
And, they aren’t slowing down, with attempts to bolster their 2026 recruiting class on that side of the ball. One of the more coveted recruits for the 2026 class on the defensive side of the ball has mentioned Oklahoma and them being a school he likes. And, that could mean he’s getting closer to committing to OU.
And if not, it will still help them with other recruits.
