LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Great Crossing center Malachi Moreno has been named 2025 Mr. Kentucky Basketball.
According to 247 Sports, Moreno is averaging 21.6 points on 71.5% shooting and 14.9 rebounds per game for Great Crossing as a senior this season.
Moreno will be the third-straight Mr. Kentucky Basketball to suit up for the Wildcats when he goes to UK this fall, following Reed Sheppard and Travis Perry.
Moreno and the Warhawks will play in the KHSAA Boys’ Sweet 16 next week at Rupp Arena against Daviess County.
2025 Miss Kentucky Basketball is ZaKiyah Johnson of Sacred Heart. She helped lead the Valkyries to their fifth-straight title just the day before, and will play at LSU in the fall.
