BREAKING On3 4-Star WR Brock Boyd Flips Commitment from TCU to Ohio State, Bolstering Buckeyes’ 2025 WR Class
In a major shakeup on the recruiting trail, On3 four-star wide receiver Brock Boyd has officially flipped his commitment from TCU to Ohio State, giving the Buckeyes another explosive weapon in their 2025 class.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound playmaker out of Lancaster, Texas had been committed to the Horned Frogs since early 2024, but after a recent visit to Columbus and strong communication with Brian Hartline and Ryan Day, Boyd made the decision to change course and pledge to the Scarlet and Gray.
Boyd, ranked as one of the top 30 wide receivers in the country by On3, brings elite quickness, precise route running, and high-level playmaking ability to an already stacked Ohio State receiving corps. He’s known for his smooth release off the line, ability to create separation downfield, and reliable hands—traits that have become synonymous with Buckeye receivers under Hartline’s guidance.
“Ohio State just felt right,” Boyd said in a statement following the flip. “The tradition, the development, the opportunity to compete with the best every day—it’s everything I was looking for. Coach Hartline is the best in the game when it comes to coaching receivers, and I want to be a part of that legacy.”
Boyd’s flip is yet another big win for Hartline, who continues to solidify Ohio State as Wide Receiver U. With standout names like Marvin Harrison Jr., Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Chris Olave recently passing through Columbus, Boyd sees Ohio State as the premier destination for wideouts who want to reach the NFL.
The Buckeyes now have one of the deepest and most dynamic WR groups in the 2025 class, and Boyd’s addition only enhances the unit’s potential. His versatility allows him to line up both outside and in the slot, making him a key piece in Ohio State’s high-octane offense.
This decommitment is a tough blow for TCU, who had hoped to build around Boyd as a cornerstone of their class. But for Ohio State, it’s another sign that the Buckeyes continue to dominate nationally in the recruiting game.
One of Texas’ top offensive weapons is headed to Columbus—and he’s bringing serious firepower with him.
