Jared Curtis is the No. 1 ranked quarterback in the 2026 recruiting cycle. And Curtis is now a member of the Georgia football recruiting class.
Curtis announced his commitment to Georgia on Monday, picking the Bulldogs over the Oregon Ducks. Curtis is the No. 1 ranked quarterback in the 2026 recruiting cycle and the No. 6 overall player.
The Curtis commitment was celebrated loudly by Georgia coaches, fans and prospective recruits.
One of the bigger reasons Georgia was able to land Curtis was because of the presence of Mike Bobo. Curtis was first offered under previous Georgia offensive coordinator Todd Monken but Bobo took over when Monken departed for the Baltimore Ravens.
Following his commitment, Curtis spoke to reporters about the importance of Bobo in his recruitment.
“I’d say Coach Bobo, he’s been doing it a long time,” Curtis said. “And he’s told me that he doesn’t have any desire to stop now. So I feel like he knows a lot about the game and he’ll get me to where I want to be.”
Bobo helped land former Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford, someone Curtis has often been compared to.
Curtis becomes the eighth member of Georgia’s 2026 recruiting class and the first 5-star commitment in the fold.
Jackson Cantwell, the No. 1 ranked offensive tackle in the 2026 class and a fellow 5-star prospect took notice of the news.
