The Miami Hurricanes have secured a commitment for their 2025 men’s basketball recruiting class with the addition of four-star guard Dante Allen.
Ranked No. 42 nationally by ESPN and No. 63 overall in the On3 Industry Ranking, Allen’s decision is pivotal for new head coach Jai Lucas as he assembles his inaugural recruiting class.

Allen, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound guard, with a 6’7 wingspan, from Montverde Academy in Florida, previously committed to Villanova in October 2024. However, he reopened his recruitment in March 2025 following the dismissal of Villanova head coach Kyle Neptune. During his senior season at Montverde, Allen shot 48 percent from the field, 37 percent from three-point range, averaged 11.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game.
Allen is the son of Malik Allen, who is currently an assistant coach for the Miami Heat. Additionally, Allen played for the Nightrydas Elite AAU program, coached by Andrew Moran, who recently joined Miami’s coaching staff under Lucas. These ties likely played a role in Allen’s decision to commit to the Hurricanes. His commitment is a significant win for Lucas, who is known for his recruiting prowess from previous stints at Kentucky and Duke.
