The Ohio State Buckeyes will get another opportunity to end their losing streak against the Michigan Wolverinesin November.
But to truly turn the tide in the rivalry, the Buckeyes might have beat the Wolverines in a future recruiting battle.
On3’s Chad Simmons reported Friday that 2027 quarterback Peter Bourque has received about 30 offers and will likely add more. Two of his top early contenders, though, are Ohio State and Michigan.
Michigan offered early and he will be back in Ann Arbor on June 16,” wrote Simmons.
“Michigan rival Ohio State was at the school to check on the No. 10 quarterback in the country this spring and he will workout in Columbus on June 17.”
Bourque suggested that Michigan left him impressed, especially after he saw a game in Ann Arbor last fall.
But the quarterback stressed that he will take his time in making a college choice.
“When I really know a place is home for me, I will commit,” Bourque said. “I want to be at a place where I know I am a priority and that I am ready to prioritize them. I thought the summer before my junior year at first, but I still have no idea. There is still a lot for me to see.”
If the Big Ten rivals are going to stay in contention for Bourque, they will have to compete with elite SEC and ACCprograms.
Before his Michigan and Ohio State visits, Bourque will see the Georgia Bulldogs on June 2, Clemson Tigers on June 3 and LSU Tigers on June 5.
According to the 247 Sports composite rankings, Bourque is the No. 10 signal-caller and 91st-ranked overall recruit in the 2027 class.
